"Les Campbell (Boffine)"

A review of Worsley Cruising Club Ltd by Graeme Campbell written on Friday 3rd of February 2012

My father Les Campbell was an early member of the Worsley Cruising club (probably a founder member) We cruised a couple of times up the LLangollen canal with Norman Beardsall (Sheena). In fact I can remember Sheena getting wedged at a stop gate and required grease and manpower to move her along. My father ,an art teacher, designed the burgee for the club. The family still has the original drawing. Is this burgee still in use? I have continued my interest in the canals and now have a share in a narrowboat on the Kennet&Avon canal. Our Bridgewater boat Boffine, was a converted clinker built lifeboat moored in the Patricroft arm by Rigbys garage.
