In 1994 my childern and i moved from our home in Sale to Longsight, we were feeling lost and alone. one day we walked by the Roby church and there was a fun day going on.

we walked inside and were made so welcome by Christine Nixon, she talked to me about the things that happened in the church during the week and encouraged me to come along and meet people.

i met some lovely people and learnt a lot particularly from Christine, who inspired me so much that when we moved back home to Leeds the following year i trained to be a counsellor and got a job working with homeless people.

i have a lot of happy memories from time at The Roby, the clown workshop, the drop in groups, the chat and the fun of belonging. we buried a time capsul to be dug up in the future, if anyone reading this knows when that will be would youplease contact me as i would love to come back for that event. thank you

good luck to you all God bless love janet, steven andrew and kelly Cory (nee wakefield).
