"WCC Founders"

A review of Worsley Cruising Club Ltd by Phil Gregson written on Wednesday 24th of March 2010

My name is Phil Gregson and my father Tom Gregson (Osprey) was a founder member along with his friend Norman Beardsall( Sheena) and seveal others - Eric Farrager ( Shallimar ) Roy Kenyon, Frank Whalley ( Iona) - They and many others were the people who worked every weekend to establish the "Patricroft Arm "

My father produced and edited the monthly news letter and the whole family attended each meeting upstairs at the Bridgewater.

It is with the fondest memories that I recall the days spent with the local disabled scouts at Dunham Massey, Bar B q`s on the Leigh stretch and weekends visiting our friends at Lymm CC, Stretford CC, et al.

I have much cine footage of those days taken by my dad but unfortunately I no longer have the equiptment to view although Andrew Perry, the son of dads friend John - a popular local worsley guy - has recently put some of the cine on disc which may have been made available to WCC.
