My father frank miles had a boat 26 foot.Moored by the hump bridge opposite the bridgewater pub 1953 ish to 1965 ish called Magiejane and was a founder member of W.C.C.Although I was young I remember the annual trips to the old boathouse pub at astley.Where on the very first sail a captain in a drunken state walked over his boat and fell into the canal.so each year after visiting the pub he was thrown in again. My fathers boat was sank one evening by a fully laden coal barge which crushed it on its mooring nobody owned up to this..
